Tamara S. Pate is an innovative and forward thinker whose passion for economic empowerment and civic engagement has fueled her drive in the workplace, her local ministry, and the community. She uses her extensive knowledge and brilliance to curate community initiatives and events, forging lasting partnerships among various organizations and corporations. Tamara is skilled in community development, public relations, advertising & multi-media marketing for non-profit organizations. She is currently the Supplier Diversity Coordinator of Memphis Light, Gas & Water Division (MLGW), where she assists minority-owned, women-owned, and local small businesses in gaining vital equitable business opportunities through procuring and contracting with MLGW. Mrs. Pate is a lifelong advocate of the HBCU experience.

She completed her undergraduate studies at Fisk University, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Mass Communication. Tamara broadened her broadcast experience while in college as an intern at FOX-17 News and The Christian Television Network in Nashville. Tamara is completing her Master’s in Public Administration at Tennessee State University. Tamara and her husband, Cedric, together raise three amazing children. Tamara’s personal quote: “I believe it is my responsibility to gain knowledge that will help circulate financial growth in our community. I do not take this prospect lightly.
