Samuel Cervantes is a first-year, Master in Public Policy student at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is pursuing a career at the intersection of cybersecurity and data analysis. Previously, as a research and policy manager at FWD.us in Washington, D.C, Samuel performed government relations research on federal agency rules, presidential executive actions, and state laws. Shaped by his immigrant background, he began his policy career in his home state of Texas, working to protect access to in- state tuition for undocumented students. Samuel earned a B.S. in Communications Studies from The University of Texas at Austin in 2019 and is the recipient of the Rapoport Service Scholarship, the Public Policy International Affairs’ Junior Summer Fellowship, and the Bill Archer Fellowship, along with the Texas Tower Award in recognition of his community service. At Harvard, Samuel is a research assistant at the Cyber Project at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, where he advances the center’s data privacy and supply chain portfolios.
