Malynda Rascoe is a second-semester Ph.D. student in Public and Urban Policy at The New School at the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment. Her research focuses on the intersections of race, the American caste system, social justice, and economics. In her methodological work, she plans to develop analytical frameworks, theories, and models through quantitative and qualitative analysis that will be used to prove how socialism can work to address systemic oppression at the root.
Currently, Malynda serves on the Board of several political and racial justice organizations. She has helped to pass bipartisan legislation that empowers Women, LGBTQ individuals, and those impacted by social injustice. Malynda has also worked and volunteered on political campaigns to elect progressive Candidates at all levels of government, ranging from hyper-local positions to the White House. Educationally, Malynda holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Metropolitan College of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). Upon completion of her Doctorate, she plans to go to law school.
