Julio Martinez is a Special Agent Candidate for the Department of State assigned to the San Francisco field office where he will conduct transnational criminal investigations, foreign dignitary protection, and security/crisis management for the safe conduct of U.S. diplomacy abroad. He previously worked as the Special Assistant to the Center for Economics and Market Development at USAID supporting initiatives such as the Econ2020 convention for over 200 development economists around the world, and the management of the economic growth blog for an audience of over 550 USAID personnel worldwide. Julio began his career in public service by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Squad Leader assigned to the U.S. Embassies in Zimbabwe and Pakistan. He continues to serve as a Platoon Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserves. He graduated from Denison University in 2015 with a B.A. in History, and is a proud native of Houston, Texas.
