Johntrell Bowles

Johntrell Bowles is a first-year graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Sciences and Global Health from Yale University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Global Development and Medical Anthropology from the University of Virginia in 2020.

After witnessing healthcare and health insurance from a public and private perspective- as a government official and a healthcare consultant, Johntrell vowed to develop as a public health leader. He anticipates obtaining a global and public-facing profession that allows him to stand with courage and conviction with underserved communities by lobbying for vital health policies and implementing pragmatic public health models representative of data-driven models and analyses, prioritizing a community-focused ethos. Believing that β€œthe soil is more important than the seed,” Johntrell looks forward to the professional development he will gain in his quest to transform global health affairs. He is also a John R. Lewis fellow and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.
