Joey Gonzales

Joey Gonzales is a dual degree master’s candidate in international relations and business administration at Georgetown University. Joey wants to serve as a policy advisor to public officials in developing countries to help create environments that are conducive to small- and medium-enterprises and entrepreneurs. He served for over 9 years as an active-duty field artillery officer in the United States Army, completing his final assignment as an Observer-Coach-Trainer at the U.S. Army National Training Center where he published a white paper on the use of artillery at echelons above Brigade against a near-peer adversary. His previous assignments include Security Forces Commander supporting Operation Inherent Resolve in Syria, and Liaison to the U.S. Embassy Lithuania, Battalion Logistics Officer, Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, Battery Executive Officer, and Company Fire Support Officer. Joey graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2011 and earned a B.S. with Honors in Mandarin Chinese Language and Culture. As a cadet, he did a semester abroad at Beijing University and competed on the Army Rowing team.
