Jennifer Walters

Jennifer Walters is an active duty Air Force Major serving as the Speechwriter to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A KC-10A instructor pilot, Jennifer led aircrew on air refueling, humanitarian, and contingency operations across the globe. She deployed four times in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE, and RESOLUTE SUPPORT, completing over 100 combat sorties. In 2020 Jennifer served as chief of the Crisis Action Team, ensuring seamless mission readiness for Travis AFB and its nearly thirty thousand members. Major Walters is a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy where she majored in History and minored in Russian and German. She also holds a Master of Philosophy and PhD in policy analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School. She is the co-founder of Reach Athena, a podcast and working group dedicated to broadening opportunity and resolving disequity for women and minorities in Air Mobility Command. She enjoys reading, tennis, running, travel and seeking out the best cup of local coffee wherever she finds herself.
