Andrew Sosanya is a technologist, passionate about the intersection of national security and technology. He works as a Policy Analyst for the Day One Project where is currently building a science and tech policy incubator. While at the Day One Project, he has developed ambitious and actionable policy ideas on issues such as reforming the $700B+ defense budget, electrifying 5000 airports to eradicate lead poisoning and achieve decarbonization, and training diverse scientists. Previously Andrew worked as an avid researcher, studying topics in physics, artificial intelligence, and national security. In 2020, he wrote a thesis on the rise of autonomous weapons and militarized AI, which won Dartmouth’s Chase Peace Prize. In 2018, he was an Astrophysics Fellow in Caltech’s NASA NuStar Group, researching ultra-bright neutron stars. Andrew graduated from Dartmouth College in 2020 with a B.A. in Physics & Government modified with Computer Science from Dartmouth College.
