Amanda Chung is a first-year Masters of Public Affairs student at the LBJ School at the University of Texas, Austin. She received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Political Science and minored in Public Policy and Journalism. Amanda wrote for the Daily Californian, Berkeley’s student-run newspaper, for four years while attending college. Prior to joining LBJ, she served as an AmeriCorps middle school tutor in Boston for a year where worked with a small group of 6th graders every day, helping them to develop their math and executive functioning skills. Amanda describes her AmeriCorps experience as the most challenging, entertaining, and fulfilling time of her life. Her current policy interests involve state youth programs, community centers, and K-12 education.
