Tonya McClendon was raised in Inglewood, California by a single mother with two other siblings. After almost six years in community college, she transferred to California State University Northridge. She received my Bachelors of Science in Consumer Affairs and Africana Studies. She's proud to be pursuing a Masters degree in Public Policy so that she may work to dismantle systemic social justice and civil rights issues. Tonya aspires to receive my Ph. D in Economics after I complete my degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. My areas of interest lie in Africana/Black Studies, social justice activism, and the preservation of art and culture.
