Shoshone Kendall is pursuing a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver in Environmental Policy and Social Equity. Her studies focus on environmental, social, and economic disparities disproportionately impacting underrepresented communities. Shoshone personal experience in Alaska, through her surrounding nature and diverse community, led her to pursue a public servant role in Colorado. Her first job out of college was helping an economic, social justice non-profit address generational wealth through capacity-building tools and inclusive economic models in research. Now she is an Intern at the City of Denver in the Division of Small Business to certify minority and woman-owned enterprises.
Her side duty is leading a sub-committee on Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JEDI), forcing investments for local small businesses. After graduating, she plans on becoming a consultant in the field of Environmental, Social Governance, or Environmental Social Equity to ensure the key players in the climate crisis and local communities can be held accountable.
