Larissa Heslop is a second-year graduate student at the School of Public Affairs & Administration within the University of Kansas (KU). She is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration with a Certificate in Public and Nonprofit Management. In addition, she is completing a Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowship to study intermediate Portuguese and Latin American Studies. Prior to her time at KU, Larissa graduated from the Honors Program at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a minor in International Business. While attending EKU, Larissa completed three study abroad programs in England, Israel and Egypt, and Brazil. In December 2021, Larissa was named a 2022 finalist for the Presidential Management Fellowship. In the future, she hopes to work in the federal government with a focus on foreign affairs. As a woman of color, she also hopes to promote and improve equity, inclusion, and representation within U.S. foreign policy.
