Beleyou Kebede is a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon pursuing a Master's in Public Policy and Management. She is on the D.C. track, a highly selective program that integrates graduate coursework in public Policy, management, technology, and analytics with a two-semester fellowship based in Washington, D.C., during the second year of study. Beleyou is interested in technology policy areas such as misinformation, content moderation, and intellectual property.
After graduating from undergraduate studies with a bachelor's in Business Administration from Boston University, Beleyou went straight into the tech policy space, working in legal operations at Facebook (now known as Meta). Beleyou spent two years working as a project manager in Intellectual Property at Meta before deciding to pursue her studies in Policy. As a member of the Carnegie Mellon community, Beleyou works at the Diversity and Inclusion Center on Campus and strives to create long-lasting changes for those who are unrepresented. Beleyou hopes to impact U.S. and International Tech Policy in her future career.
