Born and raised in the Bay Area, Aneesha has an affinity for sunny days, Southeast Asian food, and advising people not to say “San Fran.” She first indulged her political interests as an undergrad at UC Berkeley. As a member of the Cal Berkeley Democrats, Aneesha wrote for SmartAss, the club’s magazine, and canvassed for then-Senator Barack Obama. After graduating, she pursued a career in advertising analytics, working at Nielsen and Comcast, while continuing her social activism. As a volunteer for SwingLeft, Aneesha contributed to the Congressional blue wave via canvassing and voter registration drives. As Vice President of the Berkeley-Haas Alumni Network, she developed a student outreach initiative and organized a series of unconscious bias workshops. Now, as an MBA and Master of Public Policy student at The University of Chicago, Aneesha aims to turn her passion for social impact into a career.
