Aaron Chan is a graduate student at the George Washington Elliott School of International Affairs. His area of focus is Conflict and Conflict Resolution, particularly around the frequency of violent global conflicts and access to natural resources. Aaron graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a degree in Global Studies that focused on international development, most notably Chinese investments in Africa. After graduating, Aaron worked in the finance industry for Charles Schwab; but decided to leave the position and change career paths after deciding he wanted to make an impact helping others through international policy and government service. Currently, Aaron serves as a Director of the Organization of Asian Studies and is working as a Research Assistant at East - West Center in Washington participating in their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative. After graduation, Aaron hopes to continue his work in conflict resolution and foreign policy with the hope of inspiring and helping other underrepresented voices in the international affairs world and creating new ideas for conflict prevention and resolution.
